Bush Officials Considered as FBI Director

Two former national security officials with the Bush administration are reportedly in the running to succeed FBI Director Robert Mueller when his term expires in September. James Comey and Kenneth Wainstein's conservative credentials are expected to give them a boost now that President Obama faces an expanded field of Republicans in the Senate who could derail the confirmation of a nominee they oppose. Comey is popular with Democrats for taking a stand against anti-terror wiretapping and enhanced interrogation techniques such as waterboarding.
