The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for San Diego, effective through 2 p.m. Wednesday.
A cold, upper-level and low-pressure system over the Great Basin is bringing strong gust offshore winds to Southwest California. The strongest wind gusts from Wednesday morning to early Wednesday afternoon could reach 85 MPH, particularly in the Santa Ana Mountain coastal foothills and below passes, the NWS reports.
It expects wind of 20 to 30 MPH with gusts ranging from 45 MPH to — in northern parts of Oceanside — 55 MPH.
Commuters are cautioned that gusts will make driving difficult, especially for those in high-profile vehicles. Also, the NWS warns to watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.
