A 16-year-old skateboarder is recovering from injuries after being run over by a friend's pickup truck in Carlsbad Friday night.
According to the North County Times, a 17-year-old driver stopped his truck along Garfield Street around 6 p.m. to talk with a friend sitting on the curb.
As the truck pulled away, the friend stood up and jumped on his skateboard, grabbed the handle of the truck and held on for a tow.
According to police, the board got stuck under a back tire and knocked the skateboarder to the pavement.
A tire rolled over his chest and chin, but the teen suffered only moderate injuries.
