Police in the border city of Tijuana have found the body of an 8-year-old boy who went missing over the weekend.
The body of David Lizarraga Gomez was found inside a suitcase dumped in an empty lot, Baja California state prosecutors said in a statement. He had been strangled. Police found his body on Monday a few blocks from his house and said he had been dead between 36 and 48 hours.
Investigators issued an Amber Alert -- the first in Mexico -- when the boy disappeared from his home's patio Saturday.
