Padres Experience Rare Rainout

Sunday's series finale between the Padres and Dodgers has been postponed due to weather.

For just the third time in history, a baseball game has been rained out at Petco Park.

Sunday's series finale between the Padres and Dodgers has been postponed due to weather.

It will be made up on Saturday, September 2 as part of a day-night doubleheader. The makeup game will start at 12:40 while the regularly scheduled game against L.A. will be moved from 5:40 to 7:10.

The only other rainouts since Petco Park opened in 2004 came on July 19, 2015 and April 4, 2006.

Anyone holding tickets for the game being postponed will be able to use those tickets for the afternoon game in September, but they are not good for the night game. Fans will be asked to leave, then re-enter the ballpark between games so if you have tickets for both please remember to bring both sets with you.

Fans with tickets to Sunday's rainout that cannot make it in September can exchange those seats for a different game. For more on the ticket policy, click here.
