Oregon Fugitive Caught at San Ysidro Port of Entry

The man, driving his pickup truck with Oregon plates, is wanted on a felony warrant.

An Oregon man, wanted by law enforcement authorities in his home state in connection with a rape case, was arrested this week at the San Ysidro Port of Entry south of San Diego.

Francisco Macias-Trujillo, 50, drove up to the border crossing checkpoint around 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.

His vehicle, a black 2012 Nissan Frontier, had Oregon license plates.

Officers ran a routine check of law enforcement databases and say they found an active warrant in Oregon for Macias-Trujillo.

A fingerprint check identified Macias-Trujillo as a U.S. citizen wanted for skipping his $1.75 million bail.

He is accused of seven counts of sexual abuse in the first degree.

He’s been booked into the San Diego County Jail.
