A car ran a red light in Normal Heights and slammed into another vehicle, causing it to spin out, police said.
The hit-and-run crash happened just after midnight near the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and 40th Street, near the entrance to southbound Interstate 15, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said.
A couple was in the car that was struck and suffered minor injuries.
The car that ran the red light left the scene of the crash, police said.
The hit-and-run driver has not yet been located but police believe the man to be in his mid-20s.
No other information was available.
