A woman called 911 Thursday when her friend was stung by bees in Mission Trails Park, San Diego Fire-Rescue officials said.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to the trailhead near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Rueda Drive as well as Mast Boulevard and Mission Trails just after 9 a.m. for the report of a rescue.
The injured woman was found on the Tierrasanta end of the park.
The woman was treated by emergency personnel but not transported to a hospital. No details were released on how many bee stings the woman suffered or why her friend was prompted to call 911.
SDFD officials ask the public to be aware of your surroundings and location, especially when hiking or within a park. If there become a need to call 911, it is helpful if you know which trail you are on, they said.
