It’s never too early to make plans to gobble up some sweet, sweet crawfish -- so it’s a good thing that Gator By the Bay 2017 tickets are now on sale!
That’s right -- San Diego’s largest, most-authentic Louisiana-themed music and food festival this side of the bayou returns for its 16th year on May 11-14, 2017 at Spanish Landing Park (across from the San Diego International Airport) with four days of music, food and fun.
Good times are always on deck at the annual multi-day festival because when you mix non-stop live music, dancing, and more than 10,000 pounds of Louisiana crawfish together -- the results are guaranteed to be mind-blowingly (and tummy satisfyingly) awesome.
“Dancers, twirling to Cajun waltzes, two-stepping to a lively Creole zydeco beat, swinging and jitterbugging to blues and boogie-woogie, or moving to spicy Latin sounds will fill the dance floors all weekend,” said festival producer Peter Oliver in a recent press release. “At Gator By the Bay, we start movin’ and groovin’ the second the music starts and guarantee you will too. You’ll feel like you’re at a Mardi Gras party in May.”
Organizers recently announced the festival’s initial headliners and they include: Grammy-nominated blues singer/pianist Marcia Ball; Grammy award-winning Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys; Sao Paulo, Brazil’s own Igor Prado Band (with hometown chanteuse Whitney Shay on vocals); Grammy award-winning Lafayette, Louisiana troupe Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band; the Dennis Jones Band; and the Grammy-nominated zydeco band Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie. That’s a lot of Grammy-recognized artists right there!
Tickets, including single-day and multi-day passes, are on sale now and available for purchase at gatorbythebay.com.
