A house fire killed five children and an adult early Wednesday morning in the Sanchez Taboada neighborhood in Tijuana, according to a published report.
Neighbors on Cerrada Cruz del Sur street told the San Diego Union-Tribune that the 12 children who lived there were removed from their parent's custody because of substance abuse and domestic violence. The federal child-welfare agency Desarrollo Integral de la Familia regulated the group-home.
Agencia Reforma, a Mexican news agency, reported that the children who died were from 1 to 9 years of age.
