Fire Breaks Out in Miramar National Cemetery

A vegetation fire broke out inside the Miramar National Cemetery Monday, said California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The fire was close to the eastern side of Interstate 805 near State Route 52.

The fire was under power lines in the area, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD).

At 2:30 p.m., MCAS Miramar sent an update via Twitter that the fire had burned approximately four acres.

At 3 p.m., they said it was 70-percent contained and that there was no danger to any structures in the area.

The base fire department was working with SDFD to keep an eye on the fire.
