A structure fire in Oceanside has been knocked down North Comm confirmed.
Oceanside Fire crews responded to the fire at 9:20 p.m. Thursday on the 4300 block of Milano Way near Old Grove Road south of State Route 76, North Comm Fire said. The blaze was knocked down around 9:45 p.m.
The family heard their smoke alarm going off Thursday evening. When the father investigated upstairs he found the fire inside his bedroom. He closed the door, which probably saved the rest of the house the fire chief said.
The bedroom burned and the top floor and roof have smoke damage, but the rest of the house is okay.
Everyone in the house got out safely.
The damage is estimated at around $200,000.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
