Chargers Work Out Another Seau

Junior's nephew is among the prospects on the Bolts' radar

After college football programs hold their individual Pro Days to showcase talent for professional scouts, each NFL team is allowed to host a group of prospects from the local area at its workout facility.

The Chargers have access to any player from San Diego State or USD, plus any local community college products or guys who went to high school in San Diego County.  This week the Bolts hosted 14 pro prospects on their Local Pro Day. One of them is quite intriguing.

Ian Seau, the nephew of the late, great Junior Seau, is going to earn a spot in an NFL training camp, and it might be with the Chargers.  Ian became a standout linebacker for Nevada after attending La Costa Canyon High School and Grossmont College.

Last year he was an All-Mountain West Conference linebacker who had 10 sacks and five forced fumbles, so this is not nepotism or a ploy to try and create interest in the team away from a stadium issue. This kid can play.

Most scouting services have Ian ranked as a 4th or 5th round talent and the Bolts could use depth at inside linebacker so it's a very real possibility that we could be seeing another Seau lining up on defense for the San Diego Chargers.
