‘Bad Grandpa' Bandit Arraigned in Court

He is suspected of robbing or attempting to rob at least 11 banks across Southern California

The infamous ‘Bad Grandpa’ bandit was arraigned in a San Diego courtroom Wednesday.

James Saputo, who is suspected of robbing or attempting to rob at least 11 banks across Southern California, pleaded not guilty.

He was nicknamed the ‘Bad Grandpa’ because of the elderly disguise he wore, which included a wig, glasses and cane.

He’s most recently believed to have robbed a Costa Mesa bank on March 15.

If convicted he could face life in prison.

Prosecutors said Saputo has a long history of felony convictions going back to the 1980'S.
