Police have identified a man whose body was found lying in the middle of Balboa Park's Morley Field Sunday morning.
Victorino Hector Bacuetes, 44, was found on a baseball field at 7:08 a.m. when San Diego Police (SDPD) first responded to reports of a man down near the Veledrome area, said SDPD Lt. Paul Rorrison.
Bacuetes had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives are investigating. The field was closed as police investigated.
