Vehicle Flees After Pedestrian Struck in Logan Heights: PD

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that took off from the scene in Logan Heights Friday morning. 

The 61-year-old man was hit at the intersection of S. Bancroft Street and Ocean View Boulevard west of Interstate 15 at about 5:45 a.m. The vehicle did not stay at the scene, the San Diego Police Department said.

Medics were called to treat the man and who was later transported to a local hospital. The man suffered a broken right leg and a spinal fracture, said SDPD officer Tony Martinez. 

The intersection was shut down until about 7:30 a.m. as officers investigated. 

Police have no vehicle description at this time.
