A pregnant woman was hospitalized overnight after her car was struck in a hit-and-run crash in an Escondido neighborhood, officials said.
The woman was traveling along 9th Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when black pickup truck collided with her SUV and came to rest in the front yard of a home.
The impact of the crash smashed the woman’s SUV and awakened residents.
Two men who were the pickup ran from the scene, officials said. The truck was registered to a home a few blocks away but police said they were not sure if the driver in the crash was the car’s owner.
