Padres Start A New Winning Streak

San Diego Tops San Francisco

Pitching, defense, and 5 runs. Get all that and you're going to win more baseball games than you lose.

Friday night in San Francisco the Padres pulled off the trifecta that's been so rare for them in 2012. Cory Luebke tossed 6 solid innings, San Diego did not commit an error, and Nick Hundley went 4-4 to help the Padres beat the Giants 5-3.

It's their second straight win, and after a miserable start the Friars have actually won 4 of their last 6 games. They can get their first 3-game winning streak of the year Saturday night against the Giants and Tim Lincecum, who has not been his usual Cy Young-caliber self.

Lincecum is allowing more than 8 runs a game so far.
