Montreal Indoor Surf Park to Feature SurfStream Wave System

A Montreal mall will be home to the indoor Oasis surf park, which has one of the San Diego machines as its centerpiece

American Wave Machines of Solana Beach said that a client plans to open an all-season indoor surf park in a city with freezing winters and more than 7 feet of snowfall per year: Montreal.

The DIX30 mall in Brossard will be home to the indoor Oasis surf park, which has one of the San Diego machines as its centerpiece. The venue contains SurfStream’s model 5024 machine, which has a 24-foot channel width and generates waves in the range of 2 to 5 feet.

The venue will also have a 150-seat restaurant serving food inspired by cuisine from the best international surf spots. Its website shows mai tais and Dos Equis beer.

SurfStream’s website says its units cost $700,000 to $3 million, depending on system specification. The units consist of molded fiberglass, stainless steel, industrial controls and infrastructure-scale pumps.
