Police are still searching for the person who shot a young man downtown over the weekend.

That young man left 4th & B downtown Saturday morning and was found shot in the head a block away, according to San Diego Police.

Officers responded to calls about shots fired near Third Avenue and B Street just before 2:00 a.m. They found the victim in the parking lot between the club and the San Diego Civic Center.

The 26-year old man, who hasn’t been identified, died at the hospital just before 6:30 a.m.

Homicide investigators say the man had been standing in line outside the club just before the shooting but have no details on what prompted the shooting or what the shooter may look like.

The club's schedule lists the event Moulin Rouge Costume Ball Friday night.
