The suspect raised the gun from his lap and shot at a receptionist, police said

A man in a wheelchair fired a shot at a receptionist in Clairemont, but missed, police said.

Quron Izard, 41, was arrested at a building owned by the San Diego Housing Commission at a complex on Belden Street.

The suspect first engaged staff in conversation around 8:15 a.m. and then raised the gun from his lap, took a shot and took off, police said.

No one was hit.

"We set up a perimeter around the building, we brought in resources, we brought in K9s, we had our helicopter up in the air," Ball said.

Izard had returned to his apartment within the complex, but later came out and surrendered to officers. He was taken into custody around 8:50 a.m.
