Two people are recovering, after a car crashed into a ravine Thursday afternoon at Mission Gorge Road and Fairmount Avenue.
A witness said she saw the driver accelerate quickly, make a quick right turn then go through a fence and crashed into the river bed.
A lot of people helped the accident victims including a couple of homeless people. When firefighters got there, both women were out of the car.
According to Kathy Lindsey, who saw the accident, the driver and the passenter were sisters - one 18 years old, the other 20 years old. The driver told passersby that her chest hurt.
"I was actually honestly thinking she was just going to land safely, I wasn’t aware there was an embankment underneath," said Lindsey.
Both women were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their conditions.
