Bicyclist Seriously Injured in On-Ramp Collision

A female bicyclist was transported to the hospital with serious injuries Friday night after being struck by a car near a freeway on-ramp.

CHP confirmed the collision occurred around 10 p.m. at the westbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard on-ramp at northbound Interstate 805

A female bicyclist was hit by a BMW, rolling onto the vehicle’s windshield, authorities said.

CHP said the bicyclist sustained head injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the collision.
