San Diego County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested two men in connection with a series of home burglaries around Poway, officials confirmed.
Stephen Black, 24, and Richard Thomason, 45, were arrested in connection with a string of residential burglaries that happened around north and east Poway between May and July.
According to investigators, at least seven homes were burglarized. Each time, the burglaries occurred during the daytime hours and the suspects stole mostly jewelry and small electronics. Many of the homes hit in the series were close to one another.
In most cases, the suspects would enter the homes through unlocked doors and windows.
Detectives say that the cases involving Black and Thomason have been turned over to the District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
Officials want to remind the public to lock doors and windows to avoid falling prey to home burglaries.
