Supporting our Schools 2019

Supporting our Schools by Stuffing the SDCCU Bus

Last school year, more than 22,000 children were identified as homeless in San Diego County. Kids face many hardships. School supplies should not be one of them.

NBC 7 & Telemundo 20 are teaming up with San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU®) and The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) to collect new, unused school supplies for local students experiencing homelessness.

There are many ways to give during the Supporting Our Schools, Stuff the Bus campaign, including online now at www.sdcoe.net/stuffthebus2019donations. Donations are welcome in any amount; for example, $10 will provide for the purchase of a backpack for a secondary-age student or basic supplies kit, while $15 covers the cost of a backpack filled with supplies for an elementary-age student.

Collection bins for donations of new school supplies will be available throughout July at all San Diego County SDCCU branches

Items being requested include backpacks, binders, binder dividers, binder paper, notebooks, pocket folders, flashcards, pens, pencils, colored pencils, pencil pouches, pencil sharpeners, markers, highlighters, crayons, erasers, scissors, tape, glue sticks, rulers, and calculators.

Stop by the WALMART parking lot located at 3382 Murphy Canyon Road Friday July 26th from 7am-7pm for the NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 Supporting Our Schools-Supply Drive. Where we will be collecting school supplies all day long.

Your donations will provide children with the necessary supplies they need to start the school year off right.
