Can I just say I miss Joshua Zimmerman being a San Diegan? It feels like when the frontman of the Silent Comedy was a local resident, the music scene was in this magical moment. Not to say our scene isn't always beautiful and changing and evolving, but the Silent Comedy just brought a certain fire to this town that is sorely missed. Fortunately, Joshua is back in town this weekend, and the band is one of several playing the Tacos & Tequila Festival at Lane Park along the San Diego Bay. As night falls, the Heavy Guilt play a huge show at Soda Bar with a special spoken word performance by Al Howard, Warren G plays the Observatory, and Frankie Cosmos plays an all ages show at the Irenic. For the Deadheads among us, LA's Grateful Shred play the Casbah.
