In years past, Mother's Day weekend has had record-setting temperatures, so even if we face all day overcast "May gray" conditions, I'm not complaining, and it won't stop me from spending part of my day by the bay and part of it at the North Park Festival of Arts, which continues to grow in size, scope and duration. It's totally free and family friendly, though one of the stages is inside the paid craft beer block. It is just one of a number of outdoor events, like Gator by the Bay at Spanish Landing and Amps & Ales in Chula Vista, to name a couple. You might want to stay at the NPFOA, to see bands like the Farmers, Low Volts, Dani Bell, the Heavy Guilt and more, because San Diego stepped up and sold out several of our venues tonight, including Belly Up, Observatory, Casbah and Humphreys.
