Sounds Like San Diego: August 7

Bar Pink kicks off the Tiki Oasis fun this week with Alvino & the Dwells

Get out those Hawaiian shirts, because it's Tiki Oasis week in San Diego. It's funny that it feels like the event keeps growing and growing, but just remember Tiki-lovers, you can't drink like ya did in your 20s. All that fruity sweetness and buckets of rum is gonna get ya, so drink your water, take your B-12, and kick off the fun tonight at Bar Pink with Alvino & the Dwells and crew. The bonus is you can get your stainless steel straws to use for the remainder of the week between the Bali Hai and Crowne Plaza. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's OK. There's still the usual stuff in SD, too, like rockers Them Evils at Soda Bar or local-music diehards, Hocus, at the Casbah. If you've got a canoe, consider Humphreys tonight with Toto, because apparently they've been covering Weezer's "Hash Pipe" since Weezer covered them. So meta.
