Sewage Fouls Del Mar Shores

8,000 gallons of raw sewage spills

Signs are posted warning beachgoers to stay out of the waters around Del Mar and Solana Beach.

County health officials said 8,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the San Dieguito River late Monday.  Construction workers accidentally ruptured a water main at the intersection of Via De La Valle and Valley Avenue.

Warning signs along the outfall of the river, in Del Mar will be up until the water is confirmed safe.
