It's Time to Bless the Vines at South Coast Winery

The tradition includes tunes, eating, wine, springful zing.

VINES IN THE SPRINGTIME... look quite a bit different than vines come August and September, and you don't need to ponder too long to figure out why: The grape-growing tendrils have enjoyed several months of summer sunshine, and careful tending, and, fingers crossed, just the right amount of rain and moisture, and the unique benefits of the particular valleys and soil spreads in which they thrive. But autumn vines tend to visually stand in the spotlight for many wine lovers, because, in large part, all of those spectacular images depicting the bunches upon bunches of grapes. Spring vines? Not grape-tastic, but still very special, very verdant, and very ready to be celebrated by those who adore vino, wineries, celebrations, and light-of-heart traditions. One such tradition returns to South Coast Winery Resort & Spa in Temecula Valley each year, not long after the vernal equinox, and it is all about sending some warm thoughts to the vine as well as enjoying food, music, and, yes, South Coast-made libations.

THE BLESSING OF THE VINES... for 2018 will take place on Sunday, April 8, and the 21-and-over gathering will be a real enjoy-the-sunset kind of deal. That means it will flower from 5 to 8 in the evening, and there shall be a "Complete Dinner Buffet & Beverage Station," in addition to an area for desserts. Dancing, music, conviviality? Yes, those shall also weave through the event. "A Glass of Sparkling Wine" is part of your ticket price, which is $65. Going VIP? That's $85, and "a Bottle of Wine per Two Tickets" is in the fine print. If you do a springful evening out, one that looks to lending vines some vivacious good cheer as they set out on their grape-growing-est season, stop by South Coast Winery for this oh-so-springful soirée.
