Though the summer solstice technically occurred yesterday, the astro event is being celebrated tonight at a three-course dinner soiree hosted by the Avante Garde group at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The setting will be anything but ordinary, as guests sup within artist Jennifer Steinkamp's "Madame Curie" installation, which features video fields of moving chestnut blooms, marsh marigolds and other plant life drawn from Curie's list of favorites.
Fueling the food component is Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, which will pair each course with seasonal beers. The event starts off at 6 p.m., with tray-passed hors d'oeuvres and creative cocktails from nearby El Dorado and Craft & Commerce.
