Weekend Events for March 15-17

Don't forget to wear green on Sunday!

You might be seeing green this weekend when St. Patrick’s Day events dominate your calendar.

Here’s where to enjoy emerald-themed celebrations and other events this weekend:

Friday, March 15


Epic Beer Festival
7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at San Diego Convention Center
Sample more than 80 craft brewers creations this weekend at the first ever Epic Beer Festival. Admission is $40, but volunteers can gain free admission.

Golf Fest

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Oaks North Golf Course
Golf fanatics can get on the green and check out new products and emerging companies. Admission is $10 for adults and parking is $5.

Latino Film Festival

Various times, locations
Enjoy the last weekend of the 20th anniversary San Diego Latino Film Festival. Friday night features multiple films throughout the county.

Saturday, March 16

North County St. Patrick’s Day Festival
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Historic Downtown Vista
This day-long celebration includes a parade, food vendors, rugby games and a craft beer garden. Admission is free.

Science Family Day

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Balboa Park
Families can gather at Balboa Park on Saturday for a learning-focused event for kids. Activities at various museums are free with admission.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

10:30 a.m. on 6th Avenue near Balboa Park
Grab the kids and watch traditional Irish performers stroll down the streets of San Diego. If you’ve never seen professional bagpipers, this is your chance. Following the parade is a festival in Balboa Park.

Sunday, March 17

2 p.m. to midnight in Gaslamp District
Head to one of the biggest parties in the county. More than 10,000 people will descend upon the Gaslamp District to drink green beer and see live entertainment on the three concert stages.

St. Patrick’s Day 15K

9 a.m. at Cougar Vineyard & Winery in Temecula
Dress up in your best green attire and get ready to run. Following the race is an Irish toast complete with mint-colored champagne.
