Who says prayers don't work? Woz lives to dance another day.

After he ended the week with the lowest judge's score since season two, Dancing With the Stars fans stepped up once again to keep Apple co-founder Steve "Woz" Wozniak on the show.

Woz had to hobble through a samba on Monday, stricken with injuries.  His finale "worm" move looked more like a slug, but who cares?! He's Woz!

An ambulance had to take him to a hospital last week after he pulled his hamstring.  He also has a fractured foot.  That, plus a serious lack of dancing skills combined for a score of ten out of thirty from the judges for he and his partner Karina Smirnoff.

But Woz's enthusiasm and his every-billionaire appeal are clearly a hit with the fans, especially here in Silicon Valley.  After the nationwide vote was added to the judge's score, he managed to leapfrog right past the dance-off and on to next week's show.

"I was more shocked than any time in my life," Woz said. "Maybe except when I got served with divorce papers."

Instead, Playboy bunny Holly Madison and actress Denise Richards were picked as the bottom two with Richards getting her walking papers in the end.

He's also receiving support from some unexpected places -- Gary Richards, the Mr. Road Show columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, has been lobbying hard for Woz.

The boosterism has even gotten him some exclusive quips from Wozniak and his generally media-shy wife, Janet.

Dancing hasn't kept him from going about everyday business.

Yesterday it was also announce that he's joining the advisory board of DeepDyve, a Sunnyvale company that allows researchers to search technical publications and scholarly journals.

It's just the kind of uber-geeky business model that you might expect Woz to be good at.

Or maybe DeepDyve CEO William Park wants to spice up the board meetings with a quickstep or two.

Jackson West swears Woz is losing weight with all this exercise.
