Drunken Man Arrested For Strapping Four Kids to Moving Car

The male driver, accompanied by a female partner, allegedly drove three blocks with the children tied to the hood before they were busted

An Indiana man and woman have been accused of strapping four children to the hood of a car then hitting the road.

The Fort Wayne duo allegedly drove three blocks with the four children – ages 4, 5, 6, and 7 – tied to the hood of the car, until they were busted by police, The Journal Gazette reported.

Fort Wayne police were alerted Monday night after a witness spotted driver Aaron S. Stefanski, 29, and Jessica A. Clark, 29, tie the children down to the hood of a car in the parking lot of a liquor store, according a police statement.

A U.S. marshal then saw the vehicle driving with the children strapped to it and stopped the car, according to The Journal Gazette.

The children were found to be uninjured and Stefanski was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and felony neglect. His adult passenger, Clark, also faces a felony neglect charge, police said.

A police spokeswoman told the Journal Gazette the incident remains under investigation. It’s unclear what the relationship was between the adults and children.
