The Junior World Golf Championships are back this week in and around San Diego. It’s basically one giant Golf-a-Palooza.
The best young golfers on the planet play in 12 divisions at 11 different courses around the county. In all it adds up to more than 1200 players representing 42 states and 56 countries … and local golfers are all over the leaderboards.
Looking at the tops of the multiple divisions you see a ton of San Diegans in contention. Here’s a look at locals in the top-10 of each competition after two rounds:

That makes 15 San Diego golfers that have a chance to win seven of the 12 world golf championship titles in 2017. It’s another indication that San Diego’s youth golf scene is one of the best on planet earth. The third and final round of each division takes place on Thursday with the exception of the 15-18 year-olds, who play a fourth round on Friday.
