Dustin Moseley #26 of the San Diego Padres pitches against the Los Angeles Dodgers during the second inning at Dodger Stadium on May 1, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

Padres pitcher Dustin Moseley's right shoulder has "extensive damage," according to San Diego manager Bud Black.

Moseley was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 8 with a strained right shoulder, a day after allowing five runs against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Black said the damage was found by an MRI.

The right-hander had season-ending surgery on his left shoulder last August after going 3-10 with a 3.30 ERA in 20 starts in his first season with San Diego.

Anthony Bass is expected to take Moseley's turn on Thursday.
