Police Investigate Bomb Threat Near Hotel Del Coronado

Coronado police searched San Diego's famous Hotel Del Coronado Tuesday as officers investigated a possible bomb threat in the area, a city official confirmed.

Police activity first began near the 1500-block of Orange Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m.

By 1:10 p.m., Janine Zuniga with the City of Coronado told NBC 7 San Diego that police were investigating a call of a bomb threat.

Though officers continued to search Hotel Del Coronado, Zuniga said the investigation hadn't turned up any evidence related to the reported bomb threat.

She said the hotel remained open, and no evacuations had been ordered.
