San Diego firefighters were called to help rescue a man that fell several feet from a ship docked at the 10th Avenue Marine Terminal.

Early reports were that the man fell 40 feet from a gangway just before 10 a.m.

According to San Diego Fire Rescue spokesperson Maurice Luque, the 28-year-old man was working on the cargo ship the Albert Oldendorf when he fell.

The worker was conscious when emergency crews arrived and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

He was transported to UCSD Hospital for treatment.
