Neighbor Arrested in Vista Man's Death

Robert Evasick was found dead on the 4th of July, and now his neighbor is the lead suspect

A person of interest in the 4th of July death of a Vista man has now become the main suspect.

Alexander Michael Wyman, 37, was booked into the Vista jail Saturday on murder charges, accused of killing his neighbor, Robert Joseph Evasick, 54, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.

Emergency crews discovered Evasick on the ground with traumatic injuries in the 3600 block of Gopher Canyon Road in unincorporated Vista. Medics tried to revive him, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's homicide investigators soon began searching for Wyman, who lives on the same piece of property, to question him about the incident.

After a week of hunting, Los Angeles Police caught Wyman on Friday morning and turned him over to San Diego deputies on Saturday.

The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge on Tuesday.
