Local Marines Arrested After Vandalism Attacks

Two Camp Pendleton Marines were arrested for allegedly vandalizing businesses and cars near San Clemente, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities believe the two active-duty Marines used BB guns to blow out windows of the businesses and nearby cars.

Joseph Nahale and Jesse Ivie were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and shooting into an occupied vehicle, said Jim Amormino, spokesperson for the OC Sheriff’s Department.

The 20-year-old men allegedly shot into a car of a woman who was resting inside. She gave police a description of the car seen driving away from the shooting, which police were able to track down shortly after. Nahale and Ivie were arrested Sunday morning, according to the Coastline Pilot.

A total of 23 victims were affected by the vandalism attacks throughout San Clemente, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Dana Point, Amormino said.
