A suspect attempting a home invasion robbery in Clairemont Mesa East was outnumbered by the residents inside the home, who acted quickly and didn’t let him get away with the crime.

San Diego police say a man in his 30s allegedly broke into a bedroom window of a home in the 3600-block of Auburndale Street at around 11:20 p.m. Friday.

Upon entering the home, the intruder confronted several people inside, demanding they give him their money.

Instead of complying, the people inside the house held the suspect down and called police.

The man was taken into custody on charges of attempted home invasion robbery. The incident is under investigation. The suspect’s name was not released.
