The pop star, whose "California Gurls" has become the inescapable song of the season, is being threatened with a lawsuit by representatives of The Beach Boys for appropriating their famous chorus line for her tune, reports the New York Post.
The line in question was actually uttered by guest star Snoop Dogg on Perry's track, a bubbly ode to beach days and warm nights.
Wilson and Love have previously both admitted to liking Perry's work, especially since she said her tune was a tribute to their legendary band.
"I love her vocal," Wilson said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. "She sounds very clear and energetic...The melody is infectious."
