Santa Ynez Valley Trails Week

TRAIL TO-DOS: There are those who don't spend a lot of time out in a nature. There are also those who generally avoid the easy-to-navigate paths that crisscross through some of our wildest, most spectacular areas (we're going to guess that anyone in group #1 might also be a member of group #2). But we'll assume most people love California for its vista-laden beauty, and seek to hike or ramble or walk whenever the opportunity is presented. That's you, yes? Then you should surely know that such an opportunity is just ahead. Strike that. Make that several opportunities. June 4, 2011 is National Trails Day, but the Santa Ynez area goes all out and celebrates a full-on National Trails Week.

THEME DAYS: Now, hold that horse. If you think the concept of Trails Week simply means that strollers will try a new Santa Ynez-close path each day for seven days, we're here to au contraire that notion. There are actually several theme days planned for the area trails, like a Beer Trails Day and Wine Trails Day and a Locavore Trails Day. You get the tasty picture. Food and footing it go hand-in-hand (or, um, bun-and-shoe). The Santa Ynez Valley Trails Week lasts from Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 12. What's your perfect trail theme?
