The San Diego-born musician -- and, by many accounts, musical prodigy -- Ilan Rubin stepped out from behind the drum kit after his final tour with Nine Inch Nails and is showing the rest of his musical chops with his band the New Regime. Though he recorded all the parts on the record, he has put together a live band, and they're pretty quite incredible to see. Then again, there's so much talent in this town, maybe I shouldn't act so surprised after all.
