Anquan Boldin Medically Cleared to Play

Arizona Cardinals star wideout Anquan Boldin was medically cleared to play football again yesterday. He participated in practice, and he wasn't shy.

Boldin went through a portion of practice Wednesday and went out of his way to head butt a couple of teammates, including fellow receiver Steve Breaston. "He asked me what I was doing," Boldin said. "I just said I was trying to get a feel for it."

That's a great sign for the Cardinals, but they still aren't sure whether or not he's going to play this Sunday. It's likely going to be a game-time decision, because there are many things to consider. We can't forget how severely Boldin was injured less than a month ago ... and these were head and face injuries, not just your run of the mill pulled hammy. Breaston has filled in admirably in his absence.

On the other hand, Boldin is one of the best receivers in the NFL, the Cardinals face a Panthers' pass defense that just shut down Drew Brees and the Saints, and Boldin has been medically cleared.

We'll see how practice goes this week, but I'm guessing he suits up and plays about half the snaps.
