President Barack Obama's advisers staged an intervention two days before his second debate against Mitt Romney, saying in an "emotional" conversation that they feared the president was derailing his campaign, according to the author's of a new political tell-all due out Tuesday. "Double Down" authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann said Obama's contempt for the theatrical nature of politics and Romney, in particular, was tanking his debate prep.
