No Charges Filed Against Ex-SDPD Detective

Months after an investigation was launched into an alleged rape involving a Point Loma Nazarene University student, an on-campus employee, and a then-San Diego police officer, prosecutors announced no charges would be filed against the officer.

The student told investigators that she was sexually assaulted in February 2011 at an off-campus location in the East County.

The university employee, a female, was suspected of introducing the former police officer, a male, to the alleged victim.

The female suspect worked at Sodexo, the university’s food service provider, and was placed on leave after the investigation was made public.

The officer was placed on unpaid leave at the start of the investigation. The officer resigned a month later for personal reasons.
