A 32-year-old woman gave birth to a baby boy at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Jamul Wednesday, agents said.
When a couple arrived at the checkpoint in a Ford Focus at 4:30 a.m., the driver told agents that his wife was in labor. Agents called paramedics and provided assistance to the woman in the meantime.
The woman gave birth at 4:45 a.m. as paramedics transferred the woman from the car to a gurney. Paramedics transported the woman and the newborn baby to a local hospital.
