Woman Raped Near Hillcrest Store

A woman was raped early Tuesday morning outside a Hillcrest 7-Eleven.

The rape was just a few hours after another woman was kidnapped and robbed less than 10 blocks down the street.

The woman was attacked in the convenience store's parking lot in the 1600-block of University sometime before 1 a.m., according to SDPD detective Gary Hassen.

Her attacker was described as a Hispanic man in his 40s, about 5-feet 9-inches and 180 pounds, with tattoos on his body, Hassen said. The suspect was last seen wearing a white top and red pants.

Police believe the incidents are not related.
