Shots Fired on SR 94: CHP

CHP officers report finding several shell casings near Massachusetts Avenue

An unknown number of shots were fired on State Route 94 near Massachusetts Avenue around 3:40 a.m. Thursday according to the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators said they found a few shell casings along the eastbound lanes of SR 94 in Lemon Grove.

A CHP spokesperson said investigators have a car with damage but would not confirm if the damage was tied to bullets. They are processing the car for evidence.

The driver and his cousin were coming home early Thursday morning when someone pulled out a gun and fired several shots, according to CHP.

The driver just missed getting his head shot, said officials. He drove his cousin home and then went to his house in Serra Mesa, where his mother reported the shooting.

CHP is currently looking for a suspect and asks anyone who has information about this incident to contact them.
